RAC Badulla Team to Rotary Polio Parade and Rotary Polio Parade PR campaign

Rotary Polio parade and carnival organized by the Rotary Sri Lanka was held on 26th of October 2019. The parade was consisting of Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors and general public. Commenced from the Sri Lanka Foundation road and ended from Green path where the carnival was held. The parade was the final event of the Polio week celebration organized by the Rotary Sri Lanka in partnership with Ministry of Health, WHO & UNICEF, to commemorate International Polio Day (October 24th). RAC Badulla Rotaractors were there at Rotary Polio parade and carnival with a team of Rotaractors. Rotaractors of RAC Badulla walked for the cause of making awareness on Polio free Sri Lanka and world to the public. Also Rotaract Club of Badulla did a PR campaign on the polio parade and about how rotary contributed to eradicate polio, in order to do our part as rotaractors . Our objective was to make awareness about Polio eradication from the world and contribution of Rotary movement for it.   A

Mathematics is a fundamental part of human thoughts and logic, and integral to attempt at understanding the world and ourselves. Mathematics provides an effective way of building mental discipline and encourages logical reasoning and mental rigor. In Sri Lankan education system mathematics hold a special place and knowledge on basic mathematics is essential. But unfortunately districts like Badulla haven't enough facilities to promote mathematic education. Due to that several students are getting below 40% average as their mathematics result, by considering this massive issue we, Rotaract Club of Badulla decided to organize a seminar especially for the O/L students who have below 40% average result for mathematics in Badulla education zone. Our main objective was to provide basic mathematical knowledge to students who have below 40% average result for mathematics and encourage them for upcoming ordinary level examination. 7th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Badulla

The 7th Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of Badulla was held on 05 th of October 2019, at MLT (Main Lecture Theater) of Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka. It was held in a novel and a grand way, with the participation of 50+ district council members of Rotaract District 3220 and the members of Rotaract club of Badulla, Rotarians, Interactors, University academic staff, parents and well-wishers. It was quite refreshing Saturday morning in a breezy climate with a view of a beautiful range of hills. It was started at 11.10 a.m. by welcoming our honorable chief guest President of Rotary Club of Badulla Rtn.Pujitha Marasinghe, Guest of Honor Youth Service chair of Rotary Club of Badulla Rtn.PP Krishantha Pussegoda and Rotaract District Representative Rtr.PP Krishan Balaji. Prarthana

There are around 1.8 million people with cancer at any point of time in the world and it is estimated that at least half of these can be treated with chemo- or radiotherapy. Cancer patients are spending more time away from the community and in the hospital and especially in Badulla area. Badulla Central hospital is the only hospital in Uva province, which has high-tech equipment especially for cancer treatmnets. Due to this reason hundreds of patients are daily visiting this place and around 200 hundred patients are in the ward for long term treatments. Therefore, Rotaract Club of Badulla decided to donate some nutritious fruits ( which was highly recommend for cancer patients) and some other essential food items like tea leaves and biscuits for those cancer patients.   This donation program was conducted with the help of Rtn.   What are Refractive Errors? Refractive error means that the shape of your eye does not bend light correctly, resulting in a blurred image. “ALOKA” is an initiative by Rotaract Club of Badulla to serve the community of Badulla district with necessary medical requirements. This project was done jointly with Rotary Club of Badulla and John-Sims Foundation-Bandarawela. Madulsima is an estate area/Grama Niladhari division belongs to Lunugala divisional secretariat division, which has only 3 hospitals for the region. Those are Lunugala Hospital, Hopton Hospital and Adawatta Dispensary. Majority of the population in the area are estate workers who are struggling for the life, working on daily basis in estates. In the last few years, Rotaract Club of Badulla in collaboration with Rotary club of Badulla conducted a community service project called “Sandhara” which served people of Lunugala area with medical needs and educational support. By the previous project experience we knew that people of Lunugala area have less or no concern about their health and majority of the population are under-privileged suffering from poverty. There

Surakimu Diyaluma

Diyaluma falls is a tourist attractive place in Sri Lanka. Because of irregular garbage disposal, the beauty of this area has started destroying. Diyaluma Surakimu, a project which was organized by Rotaract club of Badulla was focused on to clean Diyaluma area and to create and awareness about protecting its beauty. It was not a normal cleanup program. It was always focused on the sustainability and efficiency. Through this project, we tried to create polythene and plastic free Diyaluma. In this project plastics, glass and paper garbage were collected by us according to "Recover" guidelines given by the Environment service team of Rotaract District 3220. 20 kg of Glass, 3.7 kg of plastic and little amount of paper garbage were collected in here and those were handed over to the Municipal council of Bandarawela, as they sustainably recycle them.
