“ALOKA” is an initiative by Rotaract Club of Badulla to serve the community of Badulla district with necessary medical requirements. This project was done jointly with Rotary Club of Badulla and John-Sims Foundation-Bandarawela. Madulsima is an estate area/Grama Niladhari division belongs to Lunugala divisional secretariat division, which has only 3 hospitals for the region. Those are Lunugala Hospital, Hopton Hospital and Adawatta Dispensary. Majority of the population in the area are estate workers who are struggling for the life, working on daily basis in estates. In the last few years, Rotaract Club of Badulla in collaboration with Rotary club of Badulla conducted a community service project called “Sandhara” which served people of Lunugala area with medical needs and educational support. By the previous project experience we knew that people of Lunugala area have less or no concern about their health and majority of the population are under-privileged suffering from poverty. Therefore a project to serve the community of Badulla district was an essential requirement. The project was held on 28th and 29th of September at Madulsima Mahadowa Sinhala School at 8.00 a.m. onwards

In here necessary provisions were donated to the pregnant mothers with financial difficulties. Books and other necessities were donated for school children and artificial limbs were donated for disables.  Along with that a medical camp was conducted to supply dental service, Eye clinical service, and diabetic testing.
