Backpacking food Vs food management.

Keep it simple, nutritious & save weight: We take inexpensive trail foods that are both tasty and nutritious. Specifically, foods that give you calories, protein, good fats, vitamins, and other micronutrients. This keeps you healthy and cruising along the trail with a spring in your step. Just as important are foods (and meals) that can be quickly prepared. Shelf-Stable: It’s important to use ingredients that can be stored at room temperature. You can get away with bringing some things like cheese or salami if you eat them in the first few days, but for the most part, you want to skip anything perishable. Lightweight: Since you have to carry it every step of the way, backpacking food should be as lightweight as possible. Dehydrated and freeze-dried foods tend to be lightest, though there are plenty of grocery store options we’ll review as well. Calorie Dense: Backpacking takes a lot of energy, so you need food that can properly refuel you. When we plan our backpacking food, we try

Scuba diving is a mode of underwater diving where the diver uses a self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (scuba), which is completely independent of surface supply, to breathe underwater. Scuba divers carry their own source of breathing gas, usually compressed air, allowing them greater independence and freedom of movement than surface-supplied divers, and longer underwater endurance than breath-hold divers. Although the use of compressed air is common, a mixture of air and oxygen called enriched air or nitrox has become popular due to its benefit of reduced nitrogen intake during long or repetitive dives. Open circuit scuba systems discharge the breathing gas into the environment as it is exhaled, and consist of one or more diving cylinders containing breathing gas at high pressure which is supplied to the diver through a regulator. They may include additional cylinders for range extension, decompression gas, or emergency breathing gas. Closed-circuit or semi-closed circuit

The Sri Lankan elephant (Elephas maximus maximus) is one of three recognized subspecies of the Asian elephant, and native to Sri Lanka. The trunk, also called a proboscis, is used for breathing, bringing food and water to the mouth, and grasping objects. Tusks, which are derived from the incisor teeth, serve both as weapons and as tools for moving objects and digging. The large ear flaps assist in maintaining a constant body temperature as well as in communication. The pillar-like legs carry their great weight. Elephants are classified as megaherbivores and consume up to 150 kg (330 lb) of plant matter per day. As generalists, they feed on a wide variety of food plants. In Sri Lanka's northwestern region, feeding behavior of elephants was observed during the period of January 1998 to December 1999. The elephants fed on a total of 116 plant species belonging to 35 families including 27 species of cultivated plants. More than half of the plants were non tree species, i.e. shrub, he

Galle - The Southern Beauty. Bedecking the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, Galle wears its history on its sleeve. Windswept beaches and bobbing coconut trees surround Sri Lanka's grandest colonial showpiece, a 16th-century fort built by the Portuguese, while the rest of the city is brimming with houses built in Dutch style, eccentric shops, whitewashed mansions, and tiny museums. Galle lies about 120 kilometres to the south of Colombo. The two main areas to visit in Galle are the Galle Fort and Unawatuna. A visit to the south is incomplete without seeing these two areas. With the quintessential combination of picturesque beaches and rich culture, Galle has it all.  Being securely surrounded by thick ramparts, Galle can be known as a walled city. These were extensively fortified by the Dutch merchants who ruled the city in the 17th century. The Dutch left behind their heavy impact on architecture within the fort walls.
