National Youth Model United Nations - Uva Province Workshop
The National Youth Model United
Nations is a youth forum which was founded in 2016, with one vision; to provide
the young people of our country an opportunity to engage and learn the art of
diplomacy and conflict resolution. Over the years, it has been successful in
accessing different sets of knowledge, skills and attitudes, into a platform
where a Sri Lankan youth can live the experience of a diplomat, in terms of
peace building and conflict resolution while also providing a platform towards
learning the ideologies and mindsets of different nations and societies. Then Rotaract
club of Badulla in collaboration with the Gavel Club of Uva Wellassa University
of Sri Lanka organized a workshop regarding the National Youth Model United
Nations to empower the youth in Badulla District to get the experience about an
international conference. This was held on 12th of July 2019, at
Main Lecture Theatre-Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, 9 a.m. onwards.
The objectives of this workshop
were to develop Public speaking skills of the youth people ,to increase the
contribution of Uva province on NYMUN ,to develop the professional skills of
the Youth in Badulla ,to provide the youth generation of Badulla with the
Knowledge on United Nations ,about International relations and Diplomacy ,to
show the youth of Badulla with new opportunities and pathways for their life success
and to build up a good public image of the club on for the community .
Students of Saraswathi Central
College-Badulla, Dharmadutha College-Badulla, NAITA-Badulla, ATI-Badulla, and
Oxford International College-Badulla were participated for this event. |

Three
guest speakers from National Youth Model United Nations team were participated as the resource persons for
the event.
