Cannan Harvest Children’s Home Visit
“It is easier to build strong children than to
repair broken men”. The Cannan Harvest Children’s home – Badulla is home for
children at the age of 3-20 who doesn’t have their parents or any other
relations due to legal problems. Upon a request made by the sister in charge
about the requirement of cloths and other essentials, Rotaract Club of Badulla
took an action in order to work their request and provided the necessary
requirements along with the tea party to make children happy.
Main objectives of this project
were to develop better environment for children inside the house, to provide
essential equipment and cloths to the children and to create positive
relationship with the kids. First the project committee met the Sister in
charge of the Cannon Harvest Children’s home – Badulla and discussed about
their requirements. Then the committees rechecked those requirements with the
government because the children’s home is controlled by them. Their main
requirement was cloths. Because children in the home directly came from the
court to the children home and due to that they have very limited amount of
cloths and other essentials. And we were lucky enough to get the contact of Mr.
Neelaka sen who became the main donor for cloths. Finally, the team organized a
tea party to along with the donation to make children happy.
We wish to continue this noble
cause further, to help the kids in the home.
