Journey of the Blooming bud of Central Highlands

Badulla is being one of the most scenic destinations in Sri Lanka is well known for its climate and its natural beauty. Geographically Badulla is an isolated club in the Map of Rotaract but recent years had been remarkable in the journey of Rotaract Club of Badulla.

Rotaract Club of Badulla is marking its 7 year of service since 2012. The Rotaract Club of Badulla, was chartered on 6th of May 2013, has 7  years of successful record of voluntary services. As one of the young club in the Rotaract District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives, it was recognized as the most outstanding club of the year among the newly chartered clubs, during its charter year 2013/2014. And also Rotaract Club of Badulla was awarded as the most outstanding emerging Rotaract Club of the year 2018-19 and got multiple recognition in the Rotaract District Assembly 2019.

It was charted by one individual who is namely PP.Pramod Wattegedara who took the initial step of the journey of Rotaract Club of Badulla. He himself was not from Badulla but he was a student of Uva Wellassa University. Being an undergraduate of Uva Wellassa University he wanted to give something back to the University as well as to Badulla. For some reason Rotaract was just the thing that went through his mind. He got together with few from Badulla and started the journey. At the initial stages Rotaract Club of Badulla was well known for its signature projects which was someway the other related to hiking (District Council Meeting held at the highest elevation)

In recent past Under the immediate past President Rtr. Samadith Uthpala Rotaract club of Badulla had reached new heights. Being recognized as the Best Emerging Rotaract club at the recently concluded District Assembly is one of the biggest milestones of Rotaract Club of Badulla in the lapse of 7 years.
