Agri Tourism in Other Regional Countries
Tourism and Culture are key drivers of sustainable growth. World Agro Tourism day held on the 16th of May. Most alternative tourism approaches based on rural economy thereby rural development. Therefor major of this industry around with rural destinations in the countrysides and getting benefits from all the human activities based on that. According to UNWTO's definition, ecotourism refers to forms of tourism which have the following characteristics:
1. All nature-based forms of tourism in which the main motivation of the tourists is the observation and appreciation of nature as well as the traditional cultures prevailing in natural areas.
2. It contains educational and interpretation features.
3. It is generally, but not exclusively organized by specialized tour operators for small groups. Service provider partners at the destinations tend to be small, locally owned businesses.
4. It minimizes negative impacts upon the natural and socio-cultural environment.
5. It supports the maintenance of natural areas which are used as ecotourism attractions by:
○ Generating economic benefits for host communities, organizations and authorities managing natural areas with conservation purposes;
○ Providing alternative employment and income opportunities for local communities;
○ Increasing awareness towards the conservation of natural and cultural assets, both among locals and tourists.
Many regional countries have adopted agro-tourism as a strategy for rural development to achieve the well-being of the farming community in these countries. Taiwan and the Philippines are among the major agro-tourism destinations in the Asian region. In these countries, agro-tourism activities were developed in line with government policies.
Taiwan Lush, rugged Taiwan has numerous “leisure farms” that offer tours of farm fields and facilities and, of course, plenty of chances to sample the crops. A couple of things make Taiwan an ideal spot for an in-depth Agri tourism vacation. Most leisure farms in Taiwan are situated in attractive places. These farms consist of inclusive infrastructure facilities and provide visitors clean and comfortable accommodation facilities. Many smaller farms offer home-stay accommodations, as opposed to hotel-like rooms. Besides, the food served and sold is grown locally, so green-minded travelers can easily support sustainable agriculture and lower their carbon footprint while traveling. Tea-lovers can embark on a specialized agricultural tour by focusing on the island's tea plantations, where some of the world's most prized leaves are cultivated.
Tourism is shaping our world. Every day over three million tourists cross international borders creating millions of opportunities for understanding, social transformation, and development. The remarkable ability of travel and tourism to make genuine connections amongst people and mindsets is what makes our sector a true force for good.
