Eggs and Cholesterol



Eggs were an important source of food for primitive man when most food was obtained through gathering. Early history documents that eggs were a delicacy and when abundant, a staple source of food. As poultry become domesticated eggs become a popular source of food that still provide a major source of essential nutrients in contemporary diets. Today eggs remain an important food source as well as a component of many other foods consumed throughout the world.

When consider about the nutritional values eggs are rich source of protein. That is of a high biological value. Eggs are also an important source of essential unsaturated fatty acids, oleic acid a monosaturated fatty acids , iron ,phosphorus ,trace minerals the fat soluble vitamins and water soluble vitamins. Eggs provide a unique, well balanced source of nutrients for persons of all ages. Eggs contribute significantly to the body’s nutrient needs during rapid growth and are therefore an excellent food for young children and teenagers.
The high digestibility and contributed nutrients content of eggs makes them a valuable food source for these recovering from illness. Eggs are valuable and readily acceptable in diets for the elderly who may have lower caloric needs but have greater difficulty digesting and absorbing nutrients. Egg is a complete diet that everyone can consume at low price.

Although chicken eggs are affordable source of protein and other nutrients, most people unfortunately had not yet stepped out of the norm “Eggs increase the risk of heart diseases and elevates the level of blood cholesterol “chicken eggs naturally high in cholesterol .but the cholesterol in chicken eggs does not seem to raise cholesterol level the way other cholesterol containing food do such as trans fats and saturated fats.

And another factor is some studies have found a link between eating eggs and heart diseases. But the reason for this is the foods people typically eat with eggs such as bacon, ham and sausages. And the way of eggs cooked, especially if fried in oil or butter may play more of a role in the increased risk of heart diseases than eggs themselves do. Are eggs bad for cholesterol? The short answer is no. There are no limit on how many eggs averages, healthy people can eat .eggs have almost no effect on blood cholesterol levels and regular egg consumption as part of a diet that is rich in whole foods and low in saturated fats.so do not afraid to eat eggs regularly.it is a total myth that regular egg consumption increase the cholesterol level and heart diseases.
